Fidias Sarikas was born in Paphos in 1957.He is a Greek/Cypriot politician and architect.

Political Career[edit]

Fidias Sarikas is a representative of Pafos constituency under the banner of KS EDEK since 2006. He served as Member of the Pafos Municipal Council for the period 1986-1996,Mayor of Pafos from 1997 to 2006,President of the Pafos Sewage Board from 1997 to 2006, and President of the Co-ordinating Committee of Pafos Political Parties and Organisations for the period 1997-2006. Furthermore he served as Pafos District Secretary of the Socialist Party EDEK (SK EDEK) in 1996,Member of the Committee on External Affairs and of the Committee on Education and Culture of the Committee of the Regions of the European Union and deputy member of the Joint Committee of the Committee of the Regions for Turkey of the European Union for the period 1997-2006.

  • Moreover he was Observer to the Socialist Group at the European Parliament as the representative of KS EDEK and Member of the KS EDEK Central Committee and of the KS EDEK Political Bureau.

Education[edit]

Fidias Sarikas graduated in Architecture (École d’ Architecture de Toulouse, France).He speaks French and English.
