Sofia Arkelsten

Sofia Arkelsten was born on the 6th of December 1976 in Hässelby, Sweden. She is a member of the Swedish parliament representing the Moderate Party.

Political Career[edit]

Before entering the parliament she was involved in politics on local level in Stockholm. 1998-1999 she was the chairman of the student organisation called ”Högerjuristerna” (The Right Lawyers). In 2006 she was elected in to the parliament. The first year she was only a replacement but in 2007 she was elected for real. Between 2006-2010 she was the spokesperson for the Moderate party regarding Environmental issues. In 2010-2012 she was the party secretary. 2012-2014 she was the Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs. After the elections in 2014 she is now a deputy in the Committee of Foreign Affairs and a deputy in the Committee of War.

She studied Law.
