Tobias Billström

Tobias Billström was born on the 27th of December 1973 in Malmö, Sweden. He is a member of the Swedish parliament representing the Moderate Party. He is also the former Minister of Migration. ’

Political Career[edit]

Tobias Billström started his political career within the Moderate Youth League (MUF), he was a member of the board for MUF Malmö between 1993-1998. In 1998-2002 he was a member of the City Council of Malmö. He was elected member of parliament in 2002. He started in the parliament as a member in the Committee of Social Insurance, 2002-2006. Between 2005-2006 he was a member of the Committee of Migration. In 2006 Tobias Billström was elected the Minister of Migration and he was that until 2014. During a short period in 2010 he was also the Minister of Employment. After the election in 2014 Tobias Billström was voted the First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament.

Education[edit]

In 2000 he completed a Bachelor in History and Political Science at the University of Lund. Tobias Billström obtained a Master of Philosophy in Historical Studies at Cambridge University in 2002 and also obtained a Master in History at the University of Lund the same year.
