Félix Montes Jort

Félix Montes Jort, born 27 September 1958 in Segovia, is a Spanish senator representing Segovia in the 10th Congress of Deputies. Montes Jort is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE).

Political Career[edit]

Montes Jort started his political career as mayor of the Royal Site of San Ildefonso-La Granja in 1991, a position he held until 2007. From 1995 to 2003 he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Regional Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FRMP) of Castilla y León. Furthermore, from 1995 to 1999 he was the attorney of the Regional Courts of Castilla y León, and a member of the Environment Committee of the Castilla y León. Montes Jort was a member of the Regional Committee of the PSOE of Castilla y León from 1999 to 2004. Finally he was the vice chairman of the Supervisory Board of Caja Segovia from 2000 to 2007. In the Spanish Senate, Félix Montes Jort is the spokesman for the Committee on Culture, and a member of the Committee on the Environment and Climate Change, in the Special Study on the Measures to be Undertaken to Avoid Depopulation of Mountains, and in the Joint Committe on Relations with the Court of Auditors.
