Jose María Ángel Batalla

Jose María Ángel Batalla, born in Valencia on the 6th December 1956, is a Spanish senator for the Autonomous Community of Valencia for the 10th term. He is a member of the Socialist Worker’s Party.

Political Career[edit]

Jose María Ángel Batalla was elected as senator for the first time in the 9th term. During the current term, he is the acting as vice-president of the Ibero-American Affairs Committee and vice-spokesman of the Defense Commission and the Interior Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the Interior, Education, Sport, Industry, Energy and Tourism Committee. Before becoming a senator he was also a councillor in the Municipality of L’Eliana (Valencia, 1991-1999) and Mayor of the same city (1999-2011). At the regional level, he was a deputy of the Valencian Community. Between 1993-1995 José Mª Ángel Batalla was also an executive advisor for the Ministry of National Affairs.

Education[edit]

José Mª Ángel Batalla holds a degree in History and Geography for the University of Valencia and degree on Librarianship for the same university. In 1990 he finished his MA in Public Management in ESADE (Barcelona).
