Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla

Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla, born 1 May 1970 in Barcelona, is a Spanish senator elected by the Parliament of Andalucía for the 10th Congress of Deputies. Moreno Bonilla is a member of the Spanish People’s Party, Partido Popular (PP).

Political Career[edit]

He began his political career in 1993 as President of Nuevas Generaciones, the youth wing of the Partido Popular, in Malaga and at the local level, as Councillor for Youth and Sport in the City of Malaga and President of the District Council 4 of the city. Moreno Bonilla combined local issues with regional within the V Legislature in the Andalusian Parliament, where he also held some positions as Secretary in the Committee on Social Affairs and he was the Parliamentary Spokesperson for the Youth Group. In 1995, he was elected president of Nuevas Generaciones of Andalucía, a position he left to be the National President of Nuevas Generaciones from 1997-2001. He has also held positions in the organization of the National Board of PP, as Executive Secretary of New Technologies, Executive Secretary, Municipal Politics, Secretary of Local Policy and Coordinator of Regional and Local Policy. Additionally, he was a congressman from 2000 until 2011, the year of his appointment as Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality, reason why he resigned his parliamentary record becoming part of the Government of Mariano Rajoy. Juan Manuel Moreno was elected President of the Andalusian People's Party in the 14th Congress held on 1 and 2 March 2014, in Seville, stopping at his own request as Secretary of State. Moreno Bonilla is currently the President of Commission of Conflicts and a member of the General Committee of the Autonomous Communities.

Education[edit]

Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla graduated with a degree in Protocol and Event Management from the University Camilo José Cela, and he obtained a Higher University Diploma in Protocol and Institutional Relations at the same university. Also, he pursued a Masters’ in Management and Business Administration from the EADE, a Leadership Program for Public Management (IESE) and he obtained the recognition of the Master Real Gold Senior Management Forum.
