María Jesús Ruiz Ruiz, is a Spanish senator for the Parliament of Castilla y León in the 10th term. She is a member of the People’s Party (PP).

Political Career[edit]

María Jesús Ruiz Ruiz was elected as senator for the first time in the 9th term. During the current term, she is acting as President of the Environment and Climatic Change Commission. She is also a member of the Exterior Affairs Commission and of the Mixed Commission for the relationship with the Court of Auditors. Before becoming a senator, María Jesús Ruiz Ruiz had also been a national deputy (2000-2004). At the regional level, she had been a procurator between 1993-1994 and 2007-2011 in the regional parliament of Castilla y León. During 1987 and 2003 she was mayor and councillor of the city council of Agreda (Soria). María Jesús Ruiz Ruiz has also been minister of environment in the regional government of Castilla y León (2003-2004). Since 2011 within the party, she is member of the National Board of Directors.

Education[edit]

María Jesús Ruiz holds a degree in Law for the University of Zaragoza and is a practicing attorney.
