Miguel Fidalgo Areda

Miguel Fidalgo Areda, is a Spanish senator representing the Spanish province of Ourense in the 10th Congress of Deputies. Fidalgo Areda is a member of the Spanish Socialist Worker’s Party, Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE).

Political Career[edit]

Fidalgo Areda was a councilor in the city of Ribadavia from 1983 until 1987, 1989 until 1992, 1995 until 2003 and was elected mayor two times, from 1987 to 1989 and finally from 1992 to 1995. Nowadays in the Spanish Senate he is the spokesman of the Fishing section within the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, of the Committee on the Environment and Climate Change and of the Special Study on the Measures to be Undertaken to Avoid Depopulation of Mountains. Finally, he is a member of the Joint Commission to the European Union.

Education[edit]

Areda was educated as a school teacher.
