Riccardo Conti

Riccardo Conti (November 6th, 1947) is an Italian politician and entrepreneur.

Political career[edit]

He is a former member of the Unione dei Democratici Cristiani e Democratici di Centro (UDC) party and, later, Italia di Mezzo. After refusing to follow his party leader into joining the new Partito Democratico in 2008, he adhered to Popolari Liberali and then to the Popolo della Libertà. From 2001 to 2006, he was part of the Parliamentary Commission on European Union Policy, elected with UCD. From 2006 to 2008, he was part of the Parliamentary Commission on Constitutional Affairs, Home Affairs and Council Presidency. From 2008 to 2013, he was elected to Popolo della Libertà and was part of four different Commissions: Work and Social Security, Finance and Treasure, Foreign Affairs and Immigration, and a special commission to investigate the problem of occupational fatalities. From 2013, again in the Popolo della Libertà parliamentary group, Riccardo Conti was part of the inquiry commission over occupational fatalities and the Defence Commission. He is also part of Europol, Schengen and the Immigration Parliamentary Commitee.
