Sabine Bätzing-Lichtenthäler (born February 13, 1975) is a german politician and a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD).

Political Career[edit]

Bätzing-Lichtenthäler became a member of the SPD in February 1994 and has been Member of the Bundestag since 2002. She was a Committee member in the Young Socialists AG and the Young Socialists district association, in local associations and district association of Altenkirchen from 1994-1997. She is the deputy chairman of the SPD's local association in Altenkirchen. She was the Education Officer of the District Association in Altenkirchen and spokesperson of the Young Socialists AG in Altenkirchen from 1997-2001. She has been the deputy chair of the SPD in Altenkirchen since 2001 and since March 2004, Bätzing-Lichtenthäler has been a Member of the executive committee of the SPD Rheinland-Pfalz. She equally has been a council member of the Altenkirchen district since June 1999. She was also the Drug Commisioner of the Federal Government from 2005-2009. She also belongs to the Committee on European Union Affairs and the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid.

Education[edit]

Bätzing-Lichtenthäler completes Abitur at the Gymnasium Westerwald in Altenkirchen. Subsequently, she obtained a degree a degree in management.
