Akhmed Tamim
Ahmed Tamim, a Ukranian Mufti, was born in 1956. He is an internationally renowned scholar of the Islamic world and the Head of Administration of Ukrainian Muslims.In 1994 he was elected to the First Congress of Muslims of Ukraine Mufti of Ukraine. That same year, he very quickly used his position to construct the Ar-Rakhma Mosque to accommodate the currently 2 million Muslims in Ukraine, of whom 60,000 live in Kyiv.
Political Career[edit]
He was part of the First Congress of Muslims of Ukraine as Mufti of Ukraine and was Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine. Mr. Tamim was also involved in various forums and conferences: he visited South Africa, USA, Turkey, Libya and others by official invitation in 1996. He currently takes part in the “Hasaniyskie Reading”, which is a prestigious scientific international Islamic forum under the auspices of the King of Morocco. He presented numerous papers on pseudo-religious extremism and participated in international conferences and symposia in Ukraine, Egypt, Russia and other countries.

Akhmed Tamim is a graduate from the Faculty of Computer Science at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. He obtained a Master’s degree in “Microprocessor Systems and Local Area Networks”, and also received an Islamic Theological Education at the Arab University of Beirut. He was awarded a Doctorate in Theology.
