Algirdas Saudargas
Education and Career[edit]
Algirdas Saudargas is a Lithuanian politician and a signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania. He studied biophysics from the Kaunas Medical Institute (29 May 1972). He started his career as a researcher between 1972 and 1990. He then became the chair of Lietuvos krikščionių demokratų partija (Lithuanian Christian Democrat Party) between 1995 and 1999. From 1990 to 2004 he served as a Member of the Parliamen of the Republic of Lithuania. He was appointed as Foreign Minister for Lithuania between throughout the 1990s. From 2004 until 2008 Saudargas was the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Holy See.
