Anton Refalo is a Maltese politician. He was elected to the Twelfth Parliament in March 2013 as a member of the Labour parliamentary group.

Political career[edit]

He has represented Gozo in Parliament since 1987 when he first contested the general elections. That election projected him on to the national platform: being the youngest candidate within the Labour Party. He has successfully contested each general election as a Labour Party candidate ever since, managing to increase his vote tally with every election, reflecting his tireless work for the social and economic development of the Island.

Anton Refalo has served as the Shadow Minister for Gozo Affairs and consequently Gozo’s Regional Spokesperson for over two decades. Between 1996 and 1998 he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Island of Gozo. The 2013 elections saw Anton Refalo once again receiving the full faith of his Gozitan constituency managing to receive the highest amount of votes on the 13th electoral district. Anton Refalo is keen about the arts and is an avid collector, with a special interest in the works of local artists. He truly treasures the Maltese cultural heritage and patrimony and is particularly interested in the artistic work covering the years immediately after the island’s independence in 1964.

Anton Refalo graduated as a lawyer in 1980 at the age of 24.
