Antonin Mastalir
Antonin Mastalir was born on April 19, 1953, in Ostrava. He is a Czech politician, Mayor of the city-district Slezska Ostrava, Senator for district Ostrava-mesto, Ostrava Statutory City councilor and member of the Social Democrats.
Education[edit]
After graduating from grammar school in Ostrava in 1972, he graduated from Mendel University in Brno, in 1977. In the years 1980-1983 he worked as an assistant professor at the Agricultural University in Brno.
Political career[edit]
In 2002 he became a Councilor of the city district Slezska Ostrava, where he has been also a Councilor and Mayor. In 2006 and 2010 he successfully ran for the Assembly of the City of Ostrava. He is a member of the Social Democrats. In 2010 he successfully ran for the Senate for the district of Ostrava-mesto.
