Atanas Todorov Merdjanov

Atanas Todorov Merdjanov is a Bulgarian Politician and MP at the Bulgarian parliament. He was born on the 3th September 1963 in Elhovo.

Political Career[edit]

Atanasov is currently a member of the 42nd National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Previously he was a member of the 41st National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. He is the current Secretary of the Group of Coalition for Bulgaria. In the last few years, he was a member of the Foreign Policy and Defence Committee and Internal and Public Order Committee. He was also a member of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee for investigating cases of certain facts, data and documentary evidence-based public inquiries, including some on terminated legal cases and files, cases of high level corruption, which have led to personal benefiting of certain persons, damages and significant adverse effects on the state. He was also a member of the Delegation to the European Security and Defence Assembly / Assembly of the Western European Union in the period of 2009-2013.

Education[edit]

His background is in sociological studies and he speaks French and Russian.
