Censu Galea is a member of parliament of the Republic of Malta for the twelfth legislation.

Political Career[edit]

He was elected member of Parliament in the 1987, 1992, 1996, 1998 and 2003 general elections for the Nationalist party. In 1992, Galea was appointed parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry for Social Security. In 1994, Galea was appointed Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries responsible for Agriculture, Fisheries, Aquaculture and Housing. Between 1996 and 1998, he was appointed shadow Minister for Transport and Ports, Secretary and Whip. In 1998, Galea was appointed Minister for Transport and Telecommunications and he was reappointed in the same role in April 2003.

In March 2004, Galea was elected Minister for Competitiveness and Communications in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi. His portfolio included Competition Policy, Trade Services, Small Business and the Self-Employed, Consumer Protection, Intellectual Property, Malta Standards Authority, Malta Maritime Authority, Civil Aviation, Malta Communications Authority. In March 2008 Galea was re-elected to parliament but without a Ministerial Role. In 2010, Galea was appointed as Deputy Speaker.

Galea studied at University of Malta and graduated as an architect in 1982.
