Claus Hjort Frederiksen

Claus Hjort Frederiksen (born 4 September 1947) was the Danish Minister of Finance between the 7th April 2009 to the 3rd October 2011, as member of the Cabinet of Lars Løkke Rasmussen. From 2001 to 2009, he was Minister of Employment of Denmark in cabinets I II, and III of Anders Fogh Rasmussen. He is a member of the liberal party Venstre. He has been a member of parliament (Folketinget) since the 2005 Danish parliamentary election.

Political Career[edit]

His most recent post has been as Member of the Liberal Party which he started in 2011, prior to this he was Minister of Finance April from 7th 2009 to October 3rd 2011. He became Minister for Employment between the dates of November 27th 2001 until April 7th 2009 and was Party secretary for the Liberal Party 1985-2001. He has held a number of other roles including as Administration manager for the Liberal Party's national organisation 1983-1985, Secretary of the General Association of Industrial Employers ('Industrifagenes Almindelige Arbejdsgiverforening') 1979-1983, Head of section at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries 1977-1979 and Secretary of the secretariat of the parliamentary group of the Liberal Party 1973-1977.

Education[edit]

He graduated with a Master in Law in 1972 and graduated with an undergraduate degree in 1966.
