Eva Kjer Hansen

Eva Kjer Hansen (born 26 August 1964) is a Danish politician. She was the Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries as member of the and the Cabinet of Lars Løkke Rasmussen from 12 September 2007 until 23 February 2010 and she was Social Minister and Minister for Women's Rights from 2 August 2004 to 12 September 2007, as member of the Cabinet of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I and II. Born in Aabenraa, she is a member of the Liberal Party, and has been a member of parliament (Folketinget) since the 1990 Danish parliamentary elections.

Political Career[edit]

She was Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries from September 12th 2007 to February 23rd 2010, Minister for Social Affairs and Minister for Gender Equality from August 2nd 2004 -September 12th 2007, Chairwoman of the European Affairs Committee from October 2011, Chairwoman of the Foreign Policy Committee March 2010 -September 2011, Chairperson of the Committee on Danish Cultural Affairs in South Slesvig 2002-2004 and a Member of the European Parliament 1994-1999


Education[edit]

She studied at Hellevad School 1971-1978, Rødekro School 1978-1980, Aabenraa State School 1980-1983, she then received Supplementary training at the Danish School of Journalism 1990-1991 and completed an MA in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen in 2012.


Notable Work[edit]

She has been a Member of Parliament for the Liberal Party in South Jutland greater constituency from November 13th 2007 and in Vejle County constituency from December 12th 1990 until November 13th 2007. She was a Candidate for the Liberal Party in Kolding South nomination district from 2007 and in Kolding nomination district 1990-2007.
