Evan Davies
Evan Mervyn Davies, Baron Davies of Abersoch, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, was born on 21st November 1952. He is a former banker and he was a Minister of State until 2010.
Political Career[edit]
In 2009 he was appointed a Life Peer as Baron Davies of Abersoch, in the County of Gwynedd, so he joined the House of Lords to be held accountable for his ministerial responsibilities. Between 2009 and 2010 he was Minister of State for Trade, Investment and Small Business including oversight of United Kingdom Trade and Investment (the UK export support and inward investment agency) and he had dual accountability to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Education[edit]
He completed the Programme for Management Development at Harvard Business School. Evan Davies is the Chairman of the Council of Bangor University. He is also a Trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts. He is Vice Chairman and Partner of the Corsair Capital LLP and investee companies (NoteMachine Group Holdings Limited), as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers.
