Frauke Heiligenstadt
Frauke Heiligenstadt was born on the 24th of March 1966 in Northeim. She is a member of the German Federal Council for the Social Democratic Party of Germany since 2013. Besides, she is the Lower Saxony's Minister of Culture.
Political career[edit]
Between 1988 and 2003 she worked at the city council of Northeim, where she was the Director of the Office of Economic Development and properties from 1994. Since 2003 she has been the City Counsellor for the duration of its parliamentary mandate. Since 2003 she has been a member of the Federal Council of Lower Saxony. From 1990 to 2006 she was the local mayor of Gillersheim and in 1991 she became an alderman in Katlenburg-Lindau and in 2006 a member of the Northeim district assembly. Since 2008 she has been a member of the Presidium of the SPD in Lower Saxony.
Education[edit]
Heiligenstadt graduated from German secondary school in 1985 with the Abitur (A-Level). Between 1985 and 1988 he did a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Applied Sciences in Hannover.
