Gavriil Avramidis

Gavriil Avramidis was born in Thessaloniki in 1959. He is a Greek politician and Journalist. He was elected MP with Independent Greeks in Thessaloniki region on May 6, 2012 and re-elected on June 17, 2012.

Political Career[edit]

In 1998 he was elected prefectural consultant in Thessaloniki. From this position he served as chairman of the Committee of the County Council for Greeks Abroad and Returns, a member of the Joint Committee of the Center for the Study and Development of Greek Culture of the Black Sea and chairman of the street markets.

In the same year he founded the Movement of the Unemployed and fought for the introduction of a guaranteed minimum income for the unemployed in Greece.

In 2010 he was elected Regional Council of Central Macedonia and is a member of the Metropolitan Commission of Thessaloniki. He is responsible for the area of ​​foreign policy in the National Citizens' Chariot.

He studied Greek literature and linguistics at Aristotle University and attended journalism classes.

Notable Work[edit]

He was president of the Student Association of Pontian at Aristotle University, member of the Student Group Blood Donation, since 1985 donor body and member of the time of adoption (Union Organ Donor Human Body), also a member of Amnesty International and the Association for the Rights and Liberation of Peoples, General Secretary of the Hellenic Association of Business, coordinator of Greek-Russian Alliance motion-united Greece.

He has been nominated for the social contribution of an honorary member of many clubs. He is a member of the Board Pan-Pontian Federation of Greece, the International Confederation of Pontian Greeks and Black Sea Club in Thessaloniki.
