Henning Hyllested was born February 28th 1954 in Esbjerg.

He was Representative on transport and consumer policy from 2011, a Member of the Transport Committee, of the Climate, Energy and Building Committee, of the Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Committee, of the Business, Growth and Export Committee, of the Legal Affairs Committee, of the Children' and Education Committee and of the Rural Districts and Islands Committee from 2011

He has been a Member of the Danish Parliament for the Red-Green Alliance in South Jutland greater constituency since September 15th 2011, he was a Candidate for the Red-Green Alliance in City of Esbjerg nomination district from 2007 and in Esbjerg nomination district 1998-2006. He was a Member of the management committee of the local branch of the National Dock Workers' Union (Havnearbejdernes Landsklub) from 2003 and a Member of the management committee of the United Federation of Danish Workers (3F) Esbjerg Transport from 2006.
