Jan Kaźmierczak
Jan Kaźmierczak was born on the 4th April 1950 in Katowice, Poland. He is a Polish politician, official of the local government and a member of Parliament (VI and VII Legislature.
Political Career[edit]
Between 1991 and 1994 he was a member of the national council for the Liberal Democratic Congress, then he worked for the Freedom Union. In 2002 he joined Platforma Obywatelska (the Civic Platform). Between 2002 and 2006 he held the position of Deputy President of Gliwice, then until 2007 he was a councillor and the chairman of the Gliwice city council. On behalf of the PO in the parliamentary elections in 2007, he obtained a parliamentary seat. As candidate in the district of Gliwice, he received 7641 votes. In the 2011 elections, he successfully applied for re-election.
Education[edit]
He graduated in 1974 from the Technical University of Silesia. He then obtained a PhD degree, and in 1989 he completed a habilitated doctorate based on the trial use of linear models to predict the random processes in machine diagnosis. In 1997 he received the title of Professor. He specialises in the theory of machines and mechanisms. Professionally he is associated with the Silesian University of Technology, and has headed the Department of Fundamentals of Technical Systems at the Faculty of Organization and Management. He was also director of the Institute of Production Engineering and deputy chairman of the Committee of Production Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
