Jeremy Brown
Political Career[edit]
Jeremy Brown has worked in politics as the national press and broadcasting director for the Liberal Democrats. At the 1997 General Election Jeremy was the Liberal Democrat candidate in Enfield Southgate.
In Parliament, Brown has been a shadow Liberal Democrat spokesman on foreign affairs and home affairs, and a member of the cross-party home affairs select committee, and shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
Following the formation of the Coalition Government in May 2010, Brown was appointed as Minister of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. His responsibilities include South East Asia and Far East, Caribbean, Central America, South America, Australasia and Pacific, the 2012 Olympics, Public diplomacy, Human rights, Consular policy, Migration, Drugs and International Crime.
During the reshuffle in September 2012 he was appointed as Minister for Crime Prevention in the Home Office. Amongst the many responsibilities in this position are Crime Strategy, Public Health, Community Activism, Forensic Science, Homelessness and Online Child Protection.
Education[edit]
Jeremy Brown graduated from Nottingham University with a politics degree. He was also president of the students' union and editor of the award-winning student newspaper.
