Jerzy Fedorowicz
Jerzy Fedorowicz – (born on 29th October 1947 in Polanica-Zdrój, Poland) is a Polish theatre and film actor, theatre director, poet and a Member of Parliament (V, VI and VII term).
Political Career[edit]
In the 90s he was the first director of the Culture Department of the City of Kraków, then a councillor of the Kraków city council and chairman of the Committee on Culture (1994-1998). From 1998 to 2005 he held the Małopolska regional council councillor role (I and II term) and was also chairman of the Committee on Culture. Up to 2002 he represented the Freedom Union (Unia Wolności). he later joined the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska). In the parliamentary elections in 2005, on behalf of the PO he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Kraków district. He was among the top 15 Members of the Parliament in the list of "Polityka" magazine. He was a member of the Committee on Culture and Media Committee and the Committee on Education, Science and Youth.
He was reelected in the parliamentary elections in 2007. He was vice-chairman of the Committee on Culture and Media Committee, a member of the Committee for Liaison with Poles Abroad, representative of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Parliament and Senate, Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and a member of the parliamentary groups of Polish-Ecuadorian, Polish-Russian, Polish-Taiwanese and Polish-Ukrainian relations. In the elections in 2011 he again successfully applied for re-election.
Education[edit]
He graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Kraków. As an actor associated with Kraków theaters: Rozmaitości and Stary, as well as the national theaters in Szczecin. In 1989 he became an artistic and general director of the People's Theatre (Teatr Ludowy) in Nowa Huta.
