Jimmie Ã…kesson
Jimmie Åkesson was born on the 17th of May 1979 in Ivetofta, Sweden. He is the Party Leader of the Swedish Democrats since 2005. Åkesson is a member of the swedish parliament since 2010.
Political Career[edit]
Jimmie started his political career in the Moderate Party. He was a member of their student group but in 1995 he changed to the Swedish Democrats. Åkessons reason for changing party he claims to be the fact that he is against the membership in the European Union. In 1997 he was elected to a deputy in the Party Executive. Jimmie Åkesson had a leading role when starting up the Swedish Democrats youth union. He was the leader of the youth union between 2000-2005. In 2005 he was elected the Party Leader of the Swedish Democrats. The Party made it in to the parliament in 2010 and since then Jimmie Åkesson is a member of Parliament.
Education[edit]
Jimmie Åkesson has studied at the University of Lund. He do not have a degree but he has studied courses in political science, political economy and philosophy for example.
