Josefa Luzardo Romano
Josefa Luzardo Romano was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) on the 3rd of April of 1963. She is a Spanish polititian to the People’s Party.
Political Career[edit]
She joined the Popular Alliance at the age of 19 and became the President of the Youth Group in Gran Canarias shortly after. In 1991 she was appointed councilwoman dealing with Heritage and Cemeteries. The following year, she became spokeswoman for the People’s Party Group. Mrs. Luzardo was appointed senator representing the People’s Party in Las Palmas in the Spanish Parliament in 1993. She was reelected in 1995 for the post of city councilwoman at the Las Palmas de Gran Canarias becoming the Deputy Mayor and in charge of Culture, Tourism and the Carnival. She was reelected in 1996 to be the senator to the PP representing Gran Canarias in the National Parliament.
In 1999, she was nominated by the then Prime Minister of Spain José María Aznar, as a member of the Executive Committee of the People’s Party. She was reappointed Deputy Mayor. She became the mayor of Las Palmas in 2003 for a four-year period. In 2011 she is elected as a deputy at the regional parliament and senator for the National Parliament.
Education Career[edit]
She studied Law for two years at the University of Las Palmas.
