Juan José Lucas Giménez was born in Burgo de Osma (Spain) on the 10th of May in 1944. He is a Spanish politician for the People’s Party.

Professional Career[edit]

Mr. Giménez worked as a professor at the University of Soria (1968-1969) and started working for the National Employment Institute (INEM) as a technician, secretary, Provincial Director and finally, Deputy Director General.

Political Career[edit]

In 1982 he started working at the National Institute of Colonization for the Socialist Group. He worked for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs as the Deputy Director General of the Cooperatives. In March 2001, he became a Senator after his appointment by the Courts of Castile and León. He was also the President of the Senate of Spain from 2002 until 2004. After the defeat of the PSOE during the 2004 elections, he became Second Vice President of the Senate until the year 2011. On the 12th of December of 2011, the Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, promoted him to Deputy President of the Senate of Spain.

Education Career[edit]

He graduated from the Complutense University in Madrid with a degree in Law.
