Education[edit]
Dumitru is a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Bucharest, Romania. In 1998 he graduate with a PhD from the Tulane University in the USA. His thesis was named "On Incompleteness in Modal Logic. An Account Through Second-Order Logic".
Academic Career[edit]
From 2000 to 2008 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of University of Bucharest. Currently he is the Rector of University of Bucharest but he is also active as a professor at the department of Theoretical Philosophy and Logic at the University Of Bucharest.
He was awarded the "Mircea Florian" of the Romanian Academy in 2001 for "Method and incompleteness; Modal logic as higher order logic". In addition he has published several books and studies on modal logic and philosophical logic.
