Pavol Frešo

Pavol Frešo (born on 21st April 1969 in Bratislava) is a Slovak Politician and member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He is currently the chairman of SDKÚ-DS and chairman of Bratislava.

Political career[edit]

From 1992 to 1993 he was the vice-chairman of ODS, later renamed KDS. In the period of 2003-2005, he was the chairman of the Revision and Check Commission of SDKÚ-DS. From 2003 to 2005 Frešo was the vice-chairman for interior in DS. In 2006 he became the member of Presidium of SDKÚ-DS (DS merged with SDKÚ). In 2006 he was elected as the member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for SDKÚ-DS. Since 2009 he has been the elected chairman of the Bratislava region. In 2012 he was also elected as the chairman of SDKÚ-DS after the former prime minister Mikuláš Dzurinda. He is currently a member of the Committee on European Affairs and of the Committee for the Review of Decisions of the National Security Authority. He is also the verifier of the Mandate and Immunity Committee.

Education[edit]

In 1992 he graduated from the Slovak Technical University. He then went on to study at the University of Economics in Bratislava.
