Raymond Williams
Williams, Raymond (31 August 1921 – 26 January 1988)[edit]
Welsh critic, novelist and academic. Williams work has formed the basis for much research in the field of Cultural Studies and Cultural Materialism. Publications include 'Culture and Society' (1958), 'The Long Revolution' (1961), and 'Marxism and Literature' (1977). His work greatly influenced cultural theorist Stuart Hall. After his death in 1988, the Raymond Williams Society was set up, and has since published 'Key Words: A Journal of Cultural Materialism'.
