Robert Goodwill
Robert Goodwill has been the Conservative MP for Scarborough and Whitby since the May 2005 general election. He has been the Parliamentary Secretary of State at the Department for Transport since October 2013.
Political Career[edit]
Robert Goodwill was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 1999, and served until 2004. He was also Deputy Leader of the Conservative MEP’s during this term. In May 2005 he was elected to parliament for the constituency of Scarborough and Whitby.
He was later appointed as a Whip and then promoted to the post of shadow roads minister. He was re-elected at the 2010 general election and was appointed a Whip with responsibility for Treasury and DEFRA business.
Education[edit]
Robert was educated at the Bootham Quaker School in York, and then went on to study at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture. He then went on to become a farmer.
