Thomas Peter Burgos Beteta

Thomas Peter Burgos Beteta (29 June, 1959) was born in Villanueva del Arzobispo (Jaén). He is member of the Spanish Senate for the People's Party (PP).

Political Career[edit]

He was part of the Basque Christian Democracy party (1976), a member of its youth organization and the regional secretary of the youth of the UCD in the Basque Country. In 1979 he was a member of the Regional Executive Committee of UCD in the Basque Country and Senior vice president of the DC 1986 and the Democratic People's Youth. In the Christian Democrats he has held various positions. In 1989 after Congress reformation he entered the People's party. Before being member of the Spanish Senate, he was member of the autonomous parliament of the Assembly of Madrid (1991-1996). In 1996 he began his senate career until he left in the IX Legislature in 2011.

Special Achievements[edit]

In his long career as a Senator he has been member and spokesperson in numerous commissions such as Foreign and Internal Affairs in the IX Legislature.
