Vinko Gorenak

Vinko Gorenak (born December 15, 1955) is a member of the Slovenian Democratic Party and a member of the Slovenian National Assembly.

Political career[edit]

From 1990 until 1992 he was an Advisor to the Minister for Internal Affairs and Administration, after his departure from this role he became an advisor to the Government at the Ministry for Internal Affairs and Administration until 1994. In 1995 he started his work as a director of Human Resources at the Ministry for Internal Affairs and Administration and in 1999 he became an Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry for Internal Affairs and Administration until he became a Secretary of State for police and other safety tasks at the same Ministry. From 2000 to 2004 he was a head of the analytic department and an Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry for Internal Affairs and Administration, following this he undertook the role of Secretary of State at the same Ministry as before and as well as being a lecturer at Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security and Faculty of Government and European Studies. In 2005 he worked as a Secretary of State for three years in Prime Minister cabinet. While still practicing as a regular lecturer at faculties, he became a member of Slovenian National Assembly in 2011. A year later, in 2012 he became a Minister for Internal Affairs and Administration and since 2013 he has been a member of Slovenian National Assembly. He is an active member of Slovenian Democratic Party.

Education[edit]

In 1977 he finished his Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Education in Maribor to teach in Elementary school. In 1993 he got his Master's degree in Organization and Management at Faculty of Organizational Sciences and finished his PhD in Organization and Management at Faculty of Organizational Sciences in 2003.
