Warren Edward Buffett was born in Omaha on the 30th August, 1930 as the only son to Congressman Howard Buffet. Forbes consistently ranks him among the world’s wealthiest people due to his huge success as an investor and business magnate over the last 6 decades. His pride and glory, Berkshire Hathaway inc, in which he is chairman, CEO and largest shareholder had a reported revenue of $182.150 billion in 2013. Buffet is the world’s most prominent philanthropist, stating that he will donate 99% of his earnings to charities. For his children he wishes to “give them enough so that they would feel that they could do anything, but not so much that they would feel like doing nothing.”

Philanthropic Donations[edit]
In June 2006, he announced to give away all his fortune to charity, with 83% of it going through, good friend Bill Gates' foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He made American history that same year by making the largest ever charitable donation by an individual: $37 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Furthermore, he has pledged $50 million to the Nuclear Threat Initiative, in Washington where he now serves as an advisor.
Notable Actions[edit]
In 2006, Buffet auctioned his 2001 Lincoln Town car on eBay to raise money for Girls, inc raising $73,200. Furthermore, he auctioned a luncheon with himself that raised a final bid of $650,000 for the Glide Foundation.
